A few scholarships are not included in the Foundation's Universal Scholarship Application. The listing below contains opportunities for post-high school students, including award renewals, reapplications, and more. Applicants must determine their eligibility and apply using an application specific to that award. To determine eligibility for these awards, please review the guidelines for each and complete an online application.

Cindy Graves Nursing Scholarship

The Cindy Graves Nursing Scholarship provides support for DeKalb County residents currently working as nursing professionals and continuing their education in nursing. Applications are available from April 1 - June 1 each year.

Ed & Kim Kapper Physical Therapy Scholarship

The Ed & Kim Kapper Physical Therapy Scholarship provides support for a DeKalb County high school graduate who is attending an accredited physical therapy program at an accredited college or university. Applications are available from April 1 - June 1 each year.

Jeffrey A. Trail Memorial Scholarship

The Jeffrey A. Trail Memorial Scholarship provides support to recent high school graduates who are formally admitted and committed to attending the United States Naval Academy. The selected student will receive an additional stipend each year they continue at the academy. Completing the four-year undergraduate program would result in total assistance amounting to $5,000. Applications are available from April 1 - June 1 .

Nesbitt Medical Student Scholarship

This scholarship provides awards to medical students who need financial assistance to continue their medical education. Preference is given to women, individuals who are current or previous residents of DeKalb County, Illinois, and students already enrolled in an accredited medical college in Illinois. Applications are available from April 1 - June 1 each year.

Oneita J. Waltenberger Scholarship

This scholarship provides support to current or former residents of DeKalb County, IL, who are pursuing undergraduate or post-graduate education in a healthcare field. Current high school students, including high school seniors, do not qualify. Applications are available from April 1 - June 1 each year.

Renaissance Scholarship

The Renaissance Scholarship provides support for students who have been a part of the workforce after high school and are seeking an undergraduate degree. Applicants must be a resident of DeKalb County or living within the service boundary of Kishwaukee College in Malta, IL. Applications are available from April 1 - June 1 each year.

Spinoso Masters Scholarship

The Spinoso Masters Scholarship provides up to $10,000 in scholarship support for students pursuing post-undergraduate studies. Eligible applicants must have graduated from a DeKalb County high school. Applications are available from April 1 - June 1 each year.

Scholarships (Applications accepted February 1 - April 1)

Arnold and Mildred Erickson Scholarship

The Arnold and Mildred Erickson Scholarship supports a current graduating senior from Kaneland High School or Burlington Central High School attending a 4-year college or university and majoring in the discipline of their choice or residents of the Kaneland and Burlington Central High School Districts attending Waubonsee College and majoring in the manual or cultural arts. Applications are available from February 1 - April 1 each year.

Bernice Kirkus Scholarship

The Bernice Kirkus Scholarship supports graduates of Indian Creek High School who intend to pursue or are currently working toward a degree in the field of education at any accredited 4-year college or university. Applications are available from February 1 - April 1 each year.

CHS Inc. Scholarship

The CHS Inc. Scholarship is available to high school graduates and current undergraduate students at an accredited college or university. Applicants must be a family member of an eligible CHS Inc. customer or employee. Applications are available from February 1 - April 1 each year.

DeKalb County Healthcare Professional Scholarship

The DeKalb County Healthcare Professional Scholarship offsets educational expenses for students currently enrolled or committed to beginning a college degree or health-related program(s) that prepare students for careers in the allied health professions. Applications are available from February 1 - April 1 each year.

Donald and Patricia Pritchard Scholarship

The Donald and Patricia Pritchard Scholarship benefits a high school senior in DeKalb County who plans to attend the University of Illinois College of Agriculture, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences (ACES) OR a current college student who is a graduate of a DeKalb County high school and currently enrolled in the ACES program. Applications are available from February 1 - April 1 each year.

Dr. and Mrs. Harold P. Wells Scholarship

The Dr. and Mrs. Harold P. Wells Scholarship is available to City of DeKalb Fire Department employees, retirees, and their immediate family or Kishwaukee Education Consortium Fire Sciences Program graduates.

The Wells Scholarship can also be used to offset expenses for any educational purpose. Some examples include college tuition, any fire course, short academic courses, conferences, and camps, such as music and space camps. Applications are available from February 1 - April 1.

Mary K. Roberts Scholarship

The Mary K. Roberts Scholarship supports graduates of Sycamore High School who intend to major in social work, sociology, nursing, or special education. Applicants majoring in human development and family studies, kinesiology, speech and hearing sciences, applied health professions, community health, pre-physical therapy/BS in health sciences, family and child studies, or similar baccalaureate degree programs, or another undergraduate degree study with in-depth exposure to nursing, special education, social work, or sociology, in the context of a four-year degree program, may be considered. Past recipients may re-apply. Applications are available from February 1 - April 1 each year.

O. Robert Hoover & Anna and Emma Hoehn Scholarship

The O. Robert Hoover & Anna and Emma Hoehn Scholarship supports Genoa-Kingston High School graduates attending an accredited 4-year college or university. Past award recipients may annually re-apply as they pursue a degree in their chosen field. Applications are available from February 1 - April 1 each year.

Virginia Larsen Nursing Scholarship

The Virginia Larsen Nursing Scholarship is open to students who are residents of DeKalb County seeking a college-level nursing degree. Applicants must be full-time students. Applications are available from February 1 - April 1.
