Types of Funds
The DeKalb County Community Foundation offers a variety of Fund options designed to match your philanthropic goals. Each type provides flexibility and unique benefits to help you make a lasting impact in the community.
Community Impact Funds - Offer the broadest giving option, allowing grants to be directed wherever our Board and staff identify the greatest needs. Grants support a range of Foundation programs—helping today, shaping tomorrow.
Field of Interest Funds - Support a specific area or geographic region that reflects your personal interests and values.
Donor Advised Funds - Allow you, the donor, to recommend grants to eligible organizations, giving you a hands-on role in directing your charitable giving.
Scholarship Funds - Provide financial support for students pursuing continuing education. You can define the eligibility criteria, advisory committee, preferred schools, or fields of study.
Designated Funds - Ensure ongoing support for one or more specific organizations. The Foundation monitors and adapts grants as needed to remain effective and relevant over time.
Pass Through Funds - Support specific projects, with the principal eventually being used for the intended purpose, offering a direct impact on a designated initiative.
Agency Funds - Created by nonprofit or public organizations, Agency Funds provide a reliable income stream for their work. The Foundation manages the investment and administrative responsibilities so the organization can stay focused on its mission.
