Alison Harris - Foundation Staff

Meet Alison Harris, grants manager for the DeKalb County Community Foundation. Alison spent the first part of her career administering and managing retirement plans with Lincoln Financial in Arlington Heights. After moving to Sycamore with her husband in 2009, she began working at the Community Foundation. A few months later, the Harris family was about to double in size, so Alison resigned to stay home with her children. A decision she continues to cherish. Alison was rehired in a part-time position to support the Foundation's grantmaking in 2021.

ROLE AT THE FOUNDATION: (Grants Manager)

Alison works directly with donors and nonprofit organizations to distribute grants, conduct due diligence, collect and analyze data to evaluate grant program impact, and more.

"I'm excited to be a part of the nonprofit sector where people are so passionate about their work and the betterment of this community. Working specifically with grants, I have the privilege of seeing firsthand how the generosity of our donors directly impacts people and organizations in our area. It's inspiring to be a part of that process!"
