Please join us in welcoming Justin Gifford, Sandwich representative, to the DeKalb County Community Foundation Board of Directors.

“I am most looking forward to serving as a connector within our community,” Justin said. “Whether it is helping a nonprofit identify funding opportunities or assisting a donor in finding organizations that align with their passions, I want to play a role in bringing people together.”

Justin was born and raised in DeKalb County and has deep roots in the community. He currently lives in Sandwich with his wife and two daughters. He earned a degree in accounting from Northern Illinois University.

Justin is proud to represent Sandwich, a community he describes as hardworking and honest, with a strong entrepreneurial spirit. He values the people and the sense of pride that make Sandwich a special place to call home.

In his free time, Justin enjoys beach vacations with his family and spending summer evenings on the golf course.

As he begins his term, Justin is excited to support the work of the Community Foundation and help expand its impact by connecting people, nonprofits, and resources across DeKalb County.

The Community Foundation Board of Directors are selected to represent communities throughout DeKalb County. The Board sets policy, formulates strategic planning, and determines priorities in grantmaking. Because of the willingness of these able, effective individuals who donate their time and talents to the ultimate betterment of DeKalb County, the Foundation continues to grow to enhance the quality of life for its citizens.
