With just one online application, high school students can apply for all scholarships that they quality for at the DeKalb County Community Foundation. Thanks to donor generosity, there are more than 75 different Scholarship Funds at the Community Foundation. The universal scholarship application is currently available online and the deadline for most of these awards is April 1, 2022.

DeKalb County has so many generous donors that created these awards,” said Grants and Scholarships Manager Becky Zantout.
While most scholarships fall under the universal scholarship application, some require an individual application. These additional awards include scholarships to students beyond high school seeking undergraduate and graduate degrees. Interested candidates can review full eligibility requirements and apply online.
The following list provides a brief description of these additional scholarships:
The Donald and Patricia Pritchard Scholarship benefits a student who graduated from a high school in DeKalb County and attends the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the College of ACES (Agriculture, Consumer, and Economic Sciences). Applications are currently open and due April 1.
The Dr. & Mrs. Harold P. Wells Scholarship provides support to current and retired DeKalb Fire Department employees and their dependent family members for educational expenses including college tuition, fire courses, educational short courses, conferences, and summer camps. Applications are currently open and due April 1.
The Virginia Larsen Nursing Scholarship provides support to high school seniors and students already enrolled in an accredited nursing program at any level. Applicants must be graduates of a high school in DeKalb County. Applications are currently open and due April 1.
The Ed and Kim Kapper Physical Therapy Scholarship provides support to a student attending an accredited physical therapy program at an accredited college or university. Applicants must be graduates of a high school in DeKalb County. Applications for this scholarship are available April 1 – June 1 each year.
The Spinoso Masters Scholarship provides a scholarship up to $10,000 to a deserving student for tuition costs of post-undergraduate or master’s studies. Applicants must be graduates of a high school in DeKalb County. Applications for this scholarship are available April 1 – June 1 each year.
The Renaissance Scholarship offers a $1,000 initial scholarship renewable for up to three years to an individual living in DeKalb County returning to school for an undergraduate degree after being a part of the workforce. Applications for this scholarship are available April 1 – June 1 each year.
