NIU and DCNP Collaborate on Third Nonprofit Study for DeKalb County
March 18, 2021Please join us as we welcome Manny Peña, Sycamore representative, to the DeKalb County Community Foundation Board of Directors.
Manny was raised in Chicago and married his teenage sweetheart, Nancy Ann Peña. They have two adult daughters, four grandchildren, and two lovable dogs. The Peña’s have lived in Sycamore for the last five years. They are continually impressed with the generosity of local business owners who give of their time to the betterment of the community. As a business owner in both Sycamore and Genoa, Manny desires to lead by example as he gives of his time, talent, and treasure to serve the people of DeKalb County.

Manny and his two lovable dogs, Rocky and Sophie.
In his earlier years, Manny spent three years serving our country as an airborne infantry with the United States Army at Fort Bragg, NC. He was honorably discharged in 1986 and then began a career as a tractor-trailer truck driver for the next 10 years. Following that, he became a real estate agent, along with his wife. After several years as a realtor, he became a loan officer, which ultimately led him to the insurance industry. In 2003, Manny became a self-employed insurance agent for American Family Insurance. After three years, he was offered a position as a district sales manager, managing approximately 25-30 agencies in Chicago. This opportunity enriched his life over the next eight years as he gained a wealth of knowledge and experience. In 2015, Manny was given the opportunity to take over two existing, long-time established American Family Insurance agencies. One is located in downtown Sycamore and the other in downtown Genoa. He took the opportunity and is currently the owner of the Sycamore and Genoa locations of Pena Agency, Inc. with American Family Insurance.
In his free time, Manny enjoys spending time with family, the Corvette Club, scuba diving, sky diving, and swimming.
“As I begin my term on the Foundation Board of Directors, I look forward to sharing my time and assisting in the very best way I can.” – Manny Peña
