Please join us as we welcome back Tim Suter, DeKalb representative, to the DeKalb County Community Foundation Board of Directors. “Living in DeKalb and working in Sycamore, I see both towns as my home,” said Tim. “I love the generosity and friendliness of the people in our community! We are blessed to live in a great community with outstanding schools.”
Tim was born and raised in DeKalb and is a 1986 graduate of DeKalb High School. He holds an undergraduate degree in marketing from Miami of Ohio and an Executive MBA from NIU. Tim and his family are third-generation owners of the Suter Company located in Sycamore. The company was founded in 1925 and has been in the Sycamore community since the 1930’s.
Tim and his wife Julie live in DeKalb and have two kids; Madeline and Cullin. Both of their children are graduates of DeKalb High School and were involved the Community Foundation’s Youth Engaged in Philanthropy (YEP) program during their high school years.
In his free time, Tim enjoys spending time with his family at their lake house in Wisconsin, reading books, and serving his community in a variety of roles. He is an avid bike-rider and a triathlete.
“I look forward to re-joining the board because I believe strongly in the mission to enhance the quality of life in DeKalb County. I’m eager to service alongside the Foundation’s talented and dedicated staff and board.” – Tim Suter
