Youth Engaged in Philanthropy (YEP) is accepting applications for 2019 YEP Grants. Nonprofit and community organizations located in or serving DeKalb County are encouraged to apply. Similar to other grant programs of the DeKalb County Community Foundation, YEP Grants have a specific purpose, to improve the quality of life for youth in DeKalb County. Projects considered for funding must directly involve youth, promote youth empowerment and leadership, and be dedicated to the local community.
Deadline for grant applications is February 1, 2019. No hard copy applications will be accepted. Apply online at dekalbccf.org/yepgrants.
YEP is celebrating 10 years of youth philanthropy in its 2018/2019 year. As a youth led program of the Community Foundation, YEP provides opportunities for youth across DeKalb County to develop leadership skills, learn about philanthropy, and become engaged in their communities.
Pictured: At the September 2018 YEP meeting, members visited locations in the community to see impact from YEP Grants. One of the locations was the DeKalb Public Library where the grant helped to purchase books for the Little Learners Outreach Program. This program currently services the “at risk” pre-school population of the DeKalb School District. Children enrolled in the program receive their own copy of the featured book. The ‘Three Little Pigs and the Somewhat Bad Wolf’ is a current favorite!
