Spring 2017 Community Needs Grant to the Somonauk School District to remove and replace railroad ties in the school playground. By replacing the wooden railroad ties, the amount of minor injuries to children on the playground decreased.
The DeKalb High School Marching Band received a Farny R. Wurlitzer Foundation Fund Grant in June 2018 to support the purchase of new band uniforms.
