Please join us as we welcome George Joseph “Joe” Mitchell, DeKalb representative, to the DeKalb County Community Foundation Board of Directors. Joe is Senior Pastor of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in DeKalb. Joe received a B.A. in Business Management from Judson University in Elgin, IL, a Masters of Divinity from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Lombard, IL and a Doctorate of Ministry from Virginia Union University. He currently resides in DeKalb with his wife Andria and their three children. When leisure time allows, Joe likes reading, cruising on his motorcycle, camping with his family, playing basketball, and community engagement.

The Community Foundation Board of Directors are selected to represent communities throughout DeKalb County. The Board sets policy, formulates strategic planning, and determines priorities in grantmaking. Because of the willingness of these able, effective individuals who donate their time and talents to the ultimate betterment of DeKalb County, the Foundation continues to grow to enhance the quality of life for its citizens.
