Application Process Begins for Fall Community Foundation Grants
Fall 2016 Community Needs Grant to the Sycamore Park District to pave a 1-mile trail segment extending the Great Western Trail to Peace Rd. Completed in the fall of 2016, this small trail brings added safety and enjoyment for runners, walkers, and bikers of all ages.
Online applications are open once again for fall Community Needs Grants and Wurlitzer Foundation Grants. Nonprofits and community organizations are encouraged to apply. Applications are due before midnight on September 1.
Community Needs Grants provide support for the charitable needs and efforts of nonprofit and community organizations throughout DeKalb County. Donor generosity to undesignated funds at the Community Foundation provide the necessary funding for this grant program and others. For application requests of $25,000 or more, please contact Grants & Community Initiatives Manager Becky Zantout at becky@dekalbccf.org. Apply online.
The Farny R. Wurlitzer Foundation Fund at the Community Foundation supports music education in DeKalb County and the greater Chicago metropolitan area.
