Out of a desire to unify the estate planning professionals in DeKalb County, the DeKalb County Estate Planning Council was established in 1981 with a starting membership of 47 professionals. Local attorney Ron Klein was one of the original organizers of the group.
Through a partnership with the DeKalb County Community Foundation, the Estate Planning Council continues to grow and has approximately 200 professionals on its roster. The council consists of attorneys, accountants, life insurance underwriters, trust officers, and others in the field of estate planning.
The purpose of the council is to create better awareness and understanding for estate planning among the community, to serve as a motivator for continuing education and encourage cooperation among its members, and to encourage members to maintain the highest standards of service and guidance to the community they serve.
The Estate Planning Council is co-chaired by attorneys Jill Tritt of Foster, Buick, Conklin & Lundgren, LLC and Matthew Brown of Brown Law Group, LLC. Staff from the DeKalb County Community Foundation play an administrative support role in the council by assisting with the planning and promotion of both public and professional continuing education events.
“We are excited to take the reins and develop programming for the benefit of our council members,” stated co-chairs Jill Tritt and Matt Brown.
