July 18, 2016Area nonprofit organizations and their supporters are encouraged to participate in Nonprofit Day 2016 to be held on Wednesday, July 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Faranda’s Banquet Center in DeKalb.
Entering its seventh year, this training and networking event provides support for leadership and staff of nonprofit organizations, board members, funders and community volunteers who are interested in growing and improving the effectiveness of their organization and building the capacity of the DeKalb County nonprofit community as a whole.
Nonprofit Day is organized and sponsored by the DeKalb County Nonprofit Partnership (DCNP). Nonprofit Day committee chair, Susan Petersen of 4-C: Community Coordinated Child Care, said “As the director of a nonprofit agency in DeKalb County, I’m pleased that this conference offers valuable information on current trends that can be applied to nonprofits. Nonprofit Day provides a platform where experts can share ideas and knowledge on successfully navigating the new economic landscape in our state. The level and diversity of discussions are outstanding and I’m honored to be the chairperson for this conference.”

Edith Craig, DeKalb Public Library, facilitates a panel discussion on Investing in Youth, A Culture of Diversity during Nonprofit Day 2015.
Thriving in Uncertain Times is the theme of this year’s conference and presentations will be offered on topics such as nonprofit accounting, marketing strategies, the state of government funding in Illinois, DeKalb County demographic trends and more.
Eric Weinheimer, President & CEO of Forefront, will provide the keynote remarks. Eric will share strategies, examples and resources that nonprofits are currently using to manage the turbulent financial situation many organizations in Illinois face.
Attendees must RSVP for Nonprofit Day 2016 by July 22. Register online or contact Ben Bingle, DCNP Manager, at 815-748-5383 or ben@dekalbccf.org. Attendance is free to DCNP members (board and staff) and $25 each for non-members, payable at the door by check or cash.
